Prep

A School Transition Program is offered for our incoming Prep students and their family. The School Transition Program for 2019 Preps comprised:

• Parent Evening for parents/guardians interested in Prep enrolment at EHPS - 24th July 2018.
• 3 Transition Sessions for incoming Preps; information sessions for parents/guardians were offered concurrently with the children's sessions - 11th September, 10th October and 24th October 2018.
• Information Evening for parents/guardians of enrolled Preps - 13th November 2018.
• Orientation Day - 4th December 2018.

Start of School in 2019

Term 1 commences on Tuesday 29th January 2019, however this day is a statewide student free day for all Victorian government schools. Each government school is allocated three additional student free days in the school year. The first of these student free days at EHPS will be on Wednesday 30th January 2019, therefore, our Years 1 to 6 students commence on Thursday 31st January 2019.

Prep students will not attend school between Thursday 31st January and Wednesday 6th February, and will commence school on Thursday 7th February. In the first week of the school year, 31st January to 6th February, Prep students will be allocated a School Entry Assessment (SEA) interview day and time; this will be conducted with the child only and will be approximately one hour in duration. In summary:

• School Entry Assessment (SEA) - one hour interview with the Prep student scheduled between Thursday 31st January and Wednesday 6th February.
• On the first day of school, Thursday 7th February, Prep students will have a staggered start between 9am and 10am, and finish at 1.30pm.
• From Friday 8th to Friday 15th February, Prep students attend school from 8.50am to 2.30pm.
• From Monday 18th February, Prep students begin attending school full time from 8.50am to 3.30pm.

Years 1 to 6

For students commencing in Years 1 to 6 in 2020, an orientation day will be held in December 2019.
