Essex Heights Primary School (EHPS) is a Victorian government primary school for Prep to Year 6 students. EHPS has an official enrolment ceiling applied by the Department of Education & Training (DET), which ensures that a place is provided for students for whom EHPS is their designated neighbourhood school (the school that is nearest “in straight line distance” to a student’s usual/permanent residential address). Please check this indicative map to determine if EHPS is your neighbourhood school, or call the School Office to check if your address meets this criteria. If EHPS is not your neighbourhood school, enrolment is at the discretion of our Principal in accordance with our enrolment policy.Enrolment documentation is submitted from the beginning of the school year prior to entry. We are currently accepting enrolments for entry in 2020. - Prep enrolment should be submitted by Friday 31st May 2019; Years 1 to 6 should be submitted by Friday 29th November 2019.
Prep Enrolment
A child must be five years of age by 30th April of the year they start primary school to be eligible for enrolment in a Victorian Government School. Your child must be at school in the year that they turn six years of age (this is the compulsory school starting age). EHPS has capacity to offer four Prep classes each year, which is approximately 80 children. If EHPS is not your neighbourhood school, it is the responsibility of parents/guardians to ensure that they have another school selected for Prep entry should a place not be available at EHPS because enrolments received exceed the places available.Prep enrolments for entry in 2020 should be submitted by Friday 31st May 2019 to assist our planning and preparation for the coming year, and enable full participation in our School Transition Program.
